Edward Bear

Edward Bear is a group that meets on Thursday mornings 9.30 – 11.30 in St Oswald’s church hall / and church for parents and carers and their pre-school children. It is a safe space where people can come together to make meaning through friendship – play, praise and music.

Thursday 4th May: meeting at church hall 9.30 – 10.00am – a Teddy Toddle through the Tunnel (Tissington Trail) to the Cycle Hire for a cup of tea/coffee and an ice cream. Back to the hall for 11.30am.

Thursday 13th July: Coach Trip to National Forest Farm, Burton. The coach will leave the coach park (next to Lloyds chemist opposite the Leisure Centre) at 9.30 am and return to Ashbourne for 3.00pm.

National Forest Farm will provide us with a covered picnic area, a tractor and trailer ride, time in the big barn to pet the animals, food to feed the animals and a certificate for each child to say they have attended. The entrance cost is £8.50 for each child over 2 years old and £4.50 for each parent/carer. Children under 2 years go free but the adult will have to pay £8.50. The coach is free to all parents/carers and children (you will need to bring your own car seat) and there is storage room in the ‘hold’ of the coach.  Food is available in the farm restaurant or you may wish to bring your own picnic.  We will be asking for a £5.00 deposit to reserve your seats which is refundable on the day. Please look out for the signing up sheets soon to be available at Edward Bear. For any further information about the day please call Lindsay/Peter Walker 01335 343194/07971802671  email

Sorting out the old kitchen

On Saturday 6th May at 9.30 am the Edward Bear Team will be sorting out their equipment and anything else they find in the Old Kitchen. More space needs to be found for the Book Stall publications and there seems to be a lot of ‘stuff’ for which we have no idea to whom it belongs. If you are keeping things safe in the cupboard, please let us know in good time as we do not want to throw away anything that should be kept. Edward Bear Team
